The coil wound by self-adhesive wire can be bonded and formed by heating or solvent treatment. This special property of self-bonding wire makes it easy and convenient to wind. Self bonding magnet wire is widely used in the manufacture of various complex or bobbinless electromagnetic coils.

Types of the self-bonding wire

Solvent self-adhesive enameled wire, namely alcohol bonding enameled wire, can form shape naturally after alcohol is added on the wire. 75% industrial alcohol is often used and can be added to water for dilution according to bonding property of enameled wire. The process is diverse in different products. For example, the self-adhesive wire used for the voice coil needs to be placed in the oven at 170 degrees to bake for 2 minutes after winding.
Hot air bonding is to blow hot air on the coil during winding in order to achieve the effect of self-adhesion. The temperature of hot air varies according to different enamels, winding speed, wire diameter and other factors.
Hot melt bonding is a method for adhesiveness of coil by electrifying the wire according to diameter of the wire during winding. In terms of the diameter of wire, voltage shall increase progressively until the coil is bonded. Bond coat of hot melt self-adhesive wire and the solvent self-adhesive wire is different, the former has higher strength and capability to handle re-softening without coming loose of coil while the latter has a simple bonding process and lower heat resistance. The solvent bond coat usually is applied to polyurethane enameled wires.

Characteristics

After the composite coating self-adhesive enameled wire coil is formed, the turns are firmly bonded together.
The self-adhesive enameled wire of the composite coating is heated, and the outer coating of the junction layer can be melted and solidified well.
There is no obvious bonding interface between the wires, which also reduces the stress concentration at the bonding part between the wires, thereby enhancing the bonding strength.
This self-adhesive enameled wire wound skeletonless wire wrap, after curing, forms a hard and complete entity.
