Rvyuan Heavy Formvar(Formivar) pickup wire is coated with polyvinyl-acetal(polyvinylformal) for smoothness and uniformity. It has thicker insulation and splendid mechanical properties of resisting abrasion and flexibility, extremely popular in 50s and 60s vintage single coil pickups. A number of guitar pickup repair shop and boutique hand-wound pickups are using heavy Formvar guitar pickup wire.
It’s know to most music lovers that coating’ s thickness can exert influences on tones of pickups. Rvyuan heavy formvar enameled wire has the thickest coating amid what we are providing which can change the sound characteristics of the pickup due to the principle of distributed capacitance. So there is more 'air' between the coils inside the pickup where the wires are wound. It help give abundant crisp articulation for modern tone.

We mainly manufacture Plain Enamel, Formvar insulation polyurethane insulation wire, for the simple reason that they just sound best to our ears.

The thickness of the wire is usually measured in AWG, which stands for American Wire Gauge. In guitar pickups, 42 AWG is the one that’s most commonly used. But wire-types measuring from 41 to 44 AWG are all being used in the construction of guitar pickups.
